First time ever. Very clean, friendly and good value. Food was tasty, staff was helpful. Wish this chain was in Chicago area

2 1/2 stars. We stopped here because I have been on a burrito kick. The inside is decked out in Coastal theme which I thought was kind of funny since I am from the Pacific Coast. Cute surf board lights and pretty water display . Service is fashioned like Chipotle. Service line makes your burrito while asking what you want on it. I ordered veggie but the only veggie in it was lettuce :( Beans were very runny which some people like some people dont. I have been to legit mexican food places where they serve runny beans. My burrito made my stomach feel queasy after I ate it, not something you want to feel when you are travelling. The customer service was nice , friendly and informative though which is why I haye giving this cute place a low rating. Overall , if you are a meat eater I would say give this place a chance. My spouse liked his chicken burrito just fine and it did not make him feel ill. Vegetarians , well you are warned.

Standards food you'd expect at a Costa Vida, but extremely slow and unprofessional. The manager's kids were running around screaming while she was working..

Came in here and ordered. Staff didn't know the menu. Waited a long time after my food was made to pay. The man in front of me wasn't sure what kind of meet was in his wife's burrito, the staff didn't remember, and he had to go hunt her down outside. By the time I got to eat, my nachos were quite soggy. The guac was brown, and the chips were stale. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and try the Cafe Rio just up the road.

Extra star for cleanliness. I ordered the grilled chicken enchilada meal with medium sauce. The chicken itself was good, the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. But the rest of the meal was sorely lacking. The medium sauce did have a little kick, but it tasted more like a really sweet- sweet and sour sauce. The black beans were cold, and the cilantro lime rice didn't have any flavor. I love Mexican food and was really disappointed with my meal. I would never come back. Especially with a Cafe Rio in town.

First time going and it was pretty good. Just not super crazy about the sweet pork nachos. The burrito was huge and super filling! Having the soda in the bottle made it!

This is a cut above fast food Mexican. I had tacos with grilled chicken and mango salsa that was excellent. My wife had her own creation of a rice bowl with beans, grilled chicken, salsa and guacamole and was also very happy. All of our food,; including condiments like salsa, guacamole and pico tasted very fresh. Our server, Shelby, was outstanding; patient with us as first timers, smiling and working very hard throughout our visit.

After we made a huge mistake and went to Wingers across the way from here we came to Costa Vida to try and salvage our night, and we were not disappointed! This place was amazing and we wish that we had come here in the first place, we would have had a much better night if we had. The set up is like Chipotle but they have way more options and in my opinion, they are better. There were a lot of different meats you can choose from and a lot of choices of what you can have them on! We got a quesadilla and chicken nachos, both were outstanding! If we are ever back in Rock Springs, WY we will be coming here over anywhere else for food!

This was a very disappointing visit to what is usually an excellent chain. I ordered nachos and was served a flaccid bowl of mush. The worst part is it had all the makings of a great meal, but was ruined with indifferent assembly. The worker sloshed bean and meat juice over the top of my chips before putting it in the oven releasing even more liquid. I couldn't even finish the small order because it was so unappetizing. The two stars was earned only because my husband enjoyed his enchilada, though they didn't have the chicken available that he actually wanted.

The food was great and fresh. The employees were all very nice and the manager even gave us a free desert ( I think because we were the last ones there). Everyone liked what they ordered and it's worth a stop along the highway.

The food is very good with new great favors. My favorite is the grilled chicken with mango salsa & the pork: salads or tacos. My guys enjoy the burritos! Don't go at closing, duh, you might not get what you want. The servers are courteous. Our family gives this cafeteria style restaurant 2 thumbs up!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
